Rich Coast Diving is an SSI Dive Center and Professional Career Center based in Playas del Coco. As the first and only Career Center in Costa Rica, we are proud to be one of the highest-rated dive centers in the region. Founded in 1993, we offer daily scuba diving and snorkeling trips to the best sites in Guanacaste, including the Bat Islands and the Catalina Islands. Our experienced, multilingual team delivers courses in English, Spanish, French, Dutch, German, and Italian, following the highest international standards. As a Career Center, we provide the full range of professional training from beginner courses to Divemaster and Instructor programs—supporting you every step of your journey to becoming a dive professional.
How do I get there? (google maps) ?
Costa Rica is easy to reach and very traveler-friendly. Visitors need a valid passport and a return ticket. You can fly into: Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) — approx. 5-hour transfer Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) — only 40 minutes from Playas del Coco We recommend flying into Liberia for the fastest and easiest access. Airport transfers can be arranged for your convenience.
Best time for diving & snorkeling in Costa Rica ?
Costa Rica offers world-class diving year-round. The Pacific coast around Playas del Coco is known for its rich marine biodiversity and exciting dive sites. You can expect to see: - Rays (eagle rays, devil rays, manta rays) - Reef sharks (white-tip, nurse sharks) - 4 species of sea turtles - Large schools of fish - Macro life like nudibranchs and seahorses We are ideally located for diving at the Bat Islands (bull sharks) and the Catalina Islands (giant manta rays). 📅 When should I go diving? Diving is possible all year round. Visibility can vary from day to day, but marine life is always abundant, making every dive unique and exciting. 🌡 Water temperature: 24–28°C 🧥 Recommended wetsuit: 3–5mm 🚤 Dive sites: only 10–15 minutes away ☀️ Dry season vs rainy season Dry season (Nov–Apr): Cooler water (24–26°C), nutrient-rich conditions, and increased chances of seeing rays and large marine life. Manta Season at Catalinas. Rainy season (May–Nov): Warmer water, generally better visibility, and excellent overall diving conditions. Bullshark diving at Bats Islands.
